Open-source Convention (OSCON) is a techie event sponsored b O’Reiley. The first year I attended was in Portland, OR, 2008. Concrete5 CMS made their way to the open-source world and I was just putting together my first web server. Ahh, how the mind grows. I was terribly disappointed last year at the location of OSCON 2009. San Jose, CA was quite a far trot from Olympia, WA, a trot that I could not afford.
OSCON is a central meeting place and annual convention for industry experts, hackers, and everyone in between. They have a free exhibit room with all of the latest and greatest technologies, speaking events (not free), and so much more.
